NOTICE To those of you who were mailed a copy of
January’s sermon on the Book of Revelation: The sermon was inadvertently
numbered as “NO. 6” instead of “NO. 5.” Please change this on your copy.
We left our study with “The Sea of Glass” and we start again with “The
Four Beast full of eyes before and behind” (Rev. 4:6). Then Rev. 4:7,
“And the first beast was like a lion,
and the second beast like a calf, and the third beast had a face as a man,
and the fourth beast was like a flying eagle.” We were taught that
“beast” in the Scripture represents a “power.” The four beasts we are
studying here in Rev. 4:6-7 are also seen in Rev. 5:6, and they
represent four powers of God.
In order to understand these four beast powers that God sent forth, we
must go to Rev. 6 and study “The Four Horse Riders” that the
antichrist has sent into the world.
In Rev. 6:1-8, we read about four horse riders sent by antichrist.
The first horse was “white,” it was antichrist masquerading as Jesus Christ.
The white horse typed the Truth, but its rider was a bluff. He was evil, and he
was teaching false doctrine. He had a bow but no arrows, a bluff. We must
remember that the rider on all four horses; the white, red, black and pale, were
all the same person, “antichrist.” The different colored horses typed each
stage of his false ministry. The first stage was an attempt to deceive through
religious doctrines, activities and programs, therefore the Holy Ghost shows him
on a white horse, the same color horse as we see Jesus Christ on later. The red
horse is to show us that the antichrist next resorted to force, murder and
killing in order to bring the people under his rule. But, we see that every time
the antichrist came on a different colored horse that God sent out one of His
own four beast powers to counteract the false horse rider. Let Brother Branham
explain:
QUOTE: SEAL BOOK, PAGE 349, “Notice, as the antichrist went
forth on his beast of ministry, God sent forth a beast to combat it. See? Now
watch. Then every time the beast rode on his horse (the antichrist rode on his
horse, on his beast) to announce his ministry, God sent His beast, also, in his
own mask to announce His combat to it.
Now, the Scripture says, “When the enemy come in like a flood, the
Spirit of God raises a standard against him. And so when the enemy went out as
an antichrist, God sent a certain type of power out to meet him. And then when
he went out again as a red horse rider—another color, another power, another
ministry—God sent another one after him to combat it, to hold His Church. Sent
the third one, again God sent His third beast to come and announce it. He sent
the fourth one. God sent his fourth one, and then the antichrist ended, and the
church ages ended, too, at that time. Watch. Now this is really good.
Now, we see that the Devil changing four beasts (horses) meant what power
he revealed to the world and how they ended on this pale death horse. Now, let
us look at God’s powers of these beasts to combat them.
The first beast of God that He went out to meet the antichrist with, the
antichrist spirit when it said, it’s just his teaching. Now remember, when the
antichrist first rode, he was in a teaching ministry. The antichrist rode first
in a teaching ministry.
Watch the one that went to meet him, the Lion. The Lion of the tribe of
In every age, God has had His anointed ministers to come forth with the
Truth to off-set the false teaching and evil activities of antichrist. So in the
first church age, the Ephesian Age, it was an apostolic church age where the
Apostle Paul preached the true revelations. So the first beast that God sent to
counteract the antichrist was the Lion, which is the Word that was perfected in
the Apostle Paul. The second horse that antichrist rode on was “red,”
symbolizing that peace would be taken from the earth, and blood would flow! And
God’s second beast power He sent to meet antichrist was a “calf” or
“ox.” The ox typed a beast of burden. The people who were confronted by the
attacks of antichrist were burdened because they faced death in order to stand
for Truth. God sent them His Spirit so that they could bear the burdens of that
day without fear. The spirit of an ox, to bear heavy burdens. Let the Prophet
explain this antichrist red horse, and God’s second beast, the ox:
QUOTE: SEAL BOOK, PAGE 350-351,
“Now, the second beast that the antichrist sent out was a red beast that he
rode on—was to take peace from the earth and war. Now, the second one that
went to combat him was the ox beast. The ox
means a labor, a beast of burden.
And now, if we could just stop just a minute. Let me be sure you see it.
That kind might be a little puzzling to you. Let us get Thyatira over here and
watch and see if it isn’t a laboring church, see.
And unto the angel of the church
in Thayatira write; These things saith the Son of God, who hath his eyes like
unto a flame of fire, and his feet are like fine brass;
I know thy works, (See? Becoming all works now, see, because that’s the one
that’s riding with them) and
charity, and service, and faith, and thy patience, and thy works; (again,
twice—thy works) and the last to be more than the
first. (Rev. 2:18-19)
See, that shows that the Thyatira Age, after the antichrist got settled
down and come into a Thyatira Age, the little church could do nothing but just
simply labor. And another thing, the ox is also a beast of sacrifice. See, they
give their lives just as freely as they could give them.
In the Dark Ages, a thousand years, there the Catholicism controlled the
world, and they just went right in, “yes” or “no.” They didn’t mind
dying. If it was death, that’s all right. They went and died anyhow. Why? The
very Spirit of the age.
That’s the reason Irenaeus, that’s the reason Polycarp, John, Paul,
those great mighty man out there combating that thing. Paul saw it. He said,
“I know that after my departing, that wolves are gong to enter in among you,
brethren teaching perverse things, and it will draw you away.” (End quote)
We are down to the Black Horse that antichrist rode across the earth, and
the Third Beast Power that God sent to combat this Black Horse Rider. The
antichrist system in this Black Horse Age was one that set out to gain the
wealth of the world into its false religious system. Wrongly believing that if
they could control the money, they could control all people! How wrong they were
(and are!) It is true that they can control church natural with their wealth,
but never God’s Bride! God’s Bride saw their scheme in that day, and they
also see it today! Some of our Television Evangelists today apparently do not
realize that the Black Horse Rider’s spirit is on them today, as they try to
entice the people to give toward their multi-million dollar life styles. To
combat this Black Horse Rider, God sent forth a “man” with the wisdom of God
in him (The Third Beast had the face of a man.) This was the age when God would
start the

out from the Devil was this black horse. Now, the third beast that went
out—power from God to combat him, to combat the powers of the black horse, was
a man, cunning, smart, with the wisdom of God.
You know, a man is smarter than any of the beast. See? He’s smarter
because he can out wit him, mostly. He’s cunning, shrewd. See, the age from
the Dark Age now, coming out from the Dark Age down to this other side where
this black horse was riding, when they charged for the sacrifices and everything
they’d done, and money was just…Oh, you know how it was.
Now, the next thing that went out to combat that was a beast with the
face of a man: smart, educated, shrewd, fine, anointed with that Spirit of that
day. Notice it? (God’s men)
Now, he went to combat him with the cunningness of God’s wisdom with
him. That was the age of the Reformation—Martin Luther, John Wesley, and so
forth. See, it was the Reformation—Zwingli, and oh, who all—Knox, Calvin,
and who all, see, went out. It was a cunningness.
Now, you watch. Exactly from the Dark Age, from the Reformation, this
a-way, watch; it was from the shrewdness of
(Br. Branham asks
to have windows opened—Ed.)
man…now notice it was the shrewdness of man. Now, do you understand,
that third beast that Satan sent out, he became shrewd, too? (He was going to
rob the people of their money.)
Watch, “A measure of wheat for a penny, three measures of barley for a
penny.” See? Oh my! The money-making scheme—the shrewdness to get the gold
of the world and the wealth brought into it. That’s exactly fulfilled. They
began to charge for prayers and made a place called purgatory;
prayed their ancestors out, and you had to will your deeds and everything, your
property. The church and the state were the same, and the church taken your
property over.
And don’t you see some of these evangelists, that they still have that
same anointing on them?—making old people give up their pension, and deeding
their homes over and certain things. Why, Brother….I don’t want to get on
that, see. But now…I’ll stay right with this. I look back to see where I’m
going. Now, notice…them man, it’s up to them. That’s up to them. That
don’t have one thing to do with me. I’m just responsible for this here.
Now notice, the beast come to combat it, now, was man. We all know that
this beast of man, this power of man in his intellectual, recognized that that
kosher that Martin Luther had in his hand when he was climbing those
steps…They said, “This IS the Blood of Jesus Christ. This IS the body of
Jesus Christ.”
And Luther threw it down and said, “It’s bread and wine! It’s NOT
the body of Christ, because It’s been exalted and sitting at the right hand of
God, making intercession.” See?—wisdom, man.” (End quote)
We will insert a statement by the Prophet at this point, where he
declared that his teaching on the Four Horse Riders of Satan, the
white horse, the red horse, the black horse and the pale horse and the four
beasts of God sent to combat them was “Thus Saith the Lord.”
QUOTE: SEAL BOOK, PAGE 356, “………Now don’t forget this
class, don’t forget it! Remember it all the days of your life! These beasts
are correct (My teaching on these beasts is correct.) It’s “Thus Saith
the Lord!” (End quote)
We will now let Br. Branham explain in his own words about the Fourth
Beast that God was to send out to combat the teaching of antichrist.
According to Rev. 4:7, this fourth beast was in type, “Like
a flying eagle.” We know that “eagle” in Scripture types God’s
prophets, and so the last or fourth beast to appear on Earth was a prophet. Not
just a prophet, but a mighty, major prophet, who would be given
revelations concerning the whole Bible in order to off-set any and all
of the antichrist teaching at the End of the last church age.
QUOTE: SEAL BOOK, PAGE 357-358, “Notice, the fourth beast that
was sent forth to combat the antichrist in this last beast…Are you ready? The
last beast that was sent forth, or the last power, to combat the antichrist (who
was against the teachings of God, the antichrist) was an eagle. See? The fourth
living beast was an eagle. Now, you that study the ages, study the Scriptures,
it was an eagle. And in the Bible, the last age was an Eagle Age, and God likens
the eagle to His prophets, see? Now watch, the last age, the Eagle Age—a
revealer of the true Word. See?
Before God moves to action, like He did in the days of Noah, He sent
forth an eagle. When He brought
Why?—a revealer of the Truth that has been fallen all through the age.
So how in the world could the ox, or the man, or whatever beast was riding; how
could it ever be revealed until the eagles come? They had their place. They were
Godly sent beasts, just the same as anybody else was.
The lion, that was the original. There’s where the antichrist come up
in combat; then He raised up another power. He sent a power to meet it. Then he
raised up another power, and He sent another power to meet it. Then the last
power, He brings down the eagle to restore the children back to the original
faith again of the fathers—the Eagle Age.
Then did you notice? There’s no more beasts. That’s all of it. That’s the
end. (Antichrist has done his worst, and God’s beasts have defeated him in
every age. In this last, Eagle Age, the Eagle Prophet has restored the full Word
and the Bride is ready for Rapture because of it.)
CONT. QUOTE: “Now, if you will take now Revelation 10:1-7,
(I’ve been referring to it) remember, in the last messenger’s age (see?)
What was to happen? All of the mysteries of God would be revealed—the eagle.
Now, you see the four beasts that rode? That was perfectly right. Do you
believe that? And now here is each age, or each power, that rode behind it, and
there is the Scripture that shows what the enemy’s rider did. That’s been
revealed in these Seals, and also, it’s been revealed now that each beast
powers that God sent out to combat it hits exactly on the dot, up to the eagle
time.
Now, if this is the last time, there’ll come an eagle.
That’s right. And to that….Now remember, now, in the days that the lion
came, the original Word, about one-hundredth of them listened to the lion. In
the days that the ox came, it was just a teeny little drop on them listened to
the ox message. In the days that the man come, he worked among man, you see. So
he was shrewd. He got a little group out, and what did they do? Satan seen that
so he just sends them right back and marries them into it. And remember, when
the eagle finally comes, it’ll be one-hundredth of one percent that will
listen—it’s the Eagle Age. (May God have mercy!)
Remember, all these other riders…and then even Jesus predicted that if
He didn’t hasten His coming there wouldn’t be any flesh at all saved for the
Rapture. Is that the Scripture? You see where we’re at then; don’t you,
brethren, sisters? You see were we’re at? God, I’m so glad. I don’t know
what to do.” (End quote)
He made this statement 44 years ago. In the above quotes, Br. Branham
plainly told us that the fourth beast, as seen in Rev. 4:7, was a
modern-day prophet mentioned in Rev. 10:7. We, who have studied and
believed the Message, know that the angel in Rev. 10:7, was our precious
Brother William Branham. And so the fourth beast, the eagle, mentioned in Rev.
4:7, was none other than the Prophet William Branham.
Br. Branham also taught that the four beasts of God were a type of the
four gospels: Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. They were four powers that God
raised up to write their books in the Bible, which would guard against the lies
of antichrist.
QUOTE: C.O.D. BOOK, PAGES 320-321, “Those four beasts means four
powers that come up out of the earth, and those four powers was the four
Gospels: Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John; one don’t contradict the other one.
And one of them, the…As the Gospel goes forth as the lion, it’s
stern, it’s bold; the Gospel is brave like a lion, and it’s a king like a
lion. If it goes towards a man’s face, it’s cunning and shrewd like a man.
If it goes the eagle, it’s got the swift wings and the high heights. It…See
what I mean? If it goes like the ox, it’s the work horse that can pull, the
work ox that pull the-the-the burden of the Gospel. The four beasts was the four
powers, which were: Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John; the four Gospels that ring
out in the Presence of God.” (End quote)
To sum up, we understand now why Br. Branham said, “After the Fourth
Beast of God had gone forth, that was all of it.” The antichrist has done his
best (worst) to deceive the Bride of the last age, and God has sent His Eagle
Prophet to off-set all wrong teaching. There is no more need for further
Revelation, other than what God has given our Eagle Prophet. There will be no
“Return Ministry” of Br. Branham except through the five-fold ministry. The
Pale Horse Rider of Satan has gathered all his church together under this pale,
sickly color caused by the churches of the world compromising and forming a
“World Council of Churches.” The Eagle Prophet of God has come and cried, “Come out of
